Synopsis.
It follows an out of court dispute that has risen due to a person that drowned. The story is split into two parts – Blinding Elephant directed by Zhang Li and The Last Straw directed by Huang Wei.
The Last Straw (落水者)
Ace lawyer Qiao Shaoting encounters many difficulties when he represents a criminal case, but in the face of heavy blows in his own life, he remains determined to find the truth. Qiao Shaoting partners with young lawyer Xiao Zhen to look into the death penalty review of the case.
Blinding Elephant (盲区)
A spin-off story in parallel with The Last Straw takes place within 10 hours. Judge Lu Nan is the person responsible for the review of the death penalty case. Within this time, he is sent on a short work trip to Nanjin to help with a strange dismembered corpse case from many years ago Upon investigation, numerous connections to “Chen Man’s gang smuggling case” are found.
