Justifiable Defense Synopsis
The play tells the story of a senior prosecutor of the Municipal Procuratorate, Duan Hongshan, who was handling a case of “a woman who was abused by her husband killed her husband”. Fang Lingyuan, a young prosecutor of the Provincial Procuratorate, was assigned to assist in handling the case. During the investigation, the two found that the case was closely related to the “campus excessive defense case” experienced by Li Mufeng, Mei Zheng, and Jiang Ting handled by Duan Hongshan fourteen years ago. The two took facts as the basis, followed the law as the criterion, and comprehensively considered “natural law, human feelings, and national law”, and finally gave an accurate characterization of the case.
