On November 1, Siba Media released a statement claiming that the “SNH48 Exclusive Artist Contract” and a supplementary agreement with actress and singer Ju Jingyi are still in effect, designating them as her exclusive agent. Siba Media alleges that Ju Jingyi has violated this agreement by participating in public business activities without the company’s permission. They have begun legal proceedings, filing lawsuits against third-party companies and brands that have engaged in business dealings with Ju Jingyi.
In response, Ju Jingyi’s team issued their own statement, refuting Siba’s claims. According to her team, the SNH48 Exclusive Artist Contract with Siba Media officially ended on June 18, 2024. They assert that the supplementary agreement mentioned by Siba was fabricated, claiming that Ju Jingyi had never seen or signed it. To contest these claims, Ju Jingyi’s team filed a lawsuit in July and requested handwriting identification from the court to validate the authenticity of the alleged agreement.
Ju Jingyi’s team emphasized that they will use legal measures to protect her legitimate rights and interests, particularly if her reputation or partnerships suffer from these claims. The legal proceedings surrounding this dispute may have significant implications, as both parties seek to establish the validity of their respective claims and clarify Ju Jingyi’s contractual freedom.
