Have you ever watched a drama just because it has your favorite actor featured? Well this is the same thing that happened to me. Yang Mi and Vin Zhang Binbin are the reason why I watched the drama. Unexpectedly, I watched it twice already!
First time watching the drama I expected it to be more focused on Romance but it surprised me. If you haven’t watched Storm Eye yet, I recommend you to watch the drama here’s why. I will try to avoid spoilers.
The drama is about crime investigation which obviously builds suspense to the viewer. As we know, most crime investigation dramas have different storylines. They solve different crimes with different villains, but this one is different. Storm Eye focuses on one crime investigation and the build up of the storyline is on point. The whole drama revolves around one criminal organisation and different victims, this eliminates confusion to viewers.
I liked the way the writer and director introduced new characters in the drama. The cast members were on their best performance especially Zhang Binbin.
The drama is full of action from beginning to end with less display of blood. I was also impressed by how much knowledge I’ve gained by watching the drama. If that is not enough to convince you then you will love the way the NSM spies on the suspect and how they go undercover.
As we all know, a drama cannot fully focus on one plot without adding mini plots. The drama has few plots like betrayal, romance, past memories and also brotherhood.
There’s also a time where you sort of relate to what is happening in the drama and you become emotional. If I can rate the drama out of 10, I’d give it 9.5/10. It is a great drama especially if you’re a fan of crime investigation dramas.
