The Wolf review|Chinese drama world

The Wolf is one of the few Chinese dramas that I mistakenly watched and fell in love with it. This is a honest review of The Wolf, a 2020 Chinese drama featuring, Xiao Zhang, Darren Wang and Li Qin. First things first, please subscribe to our YouTube channel by clicking here and follow our blog for more reviews.

The wolf grabbed my attention from the first episode, the opening song actually did the trick. One thing that will grab your attention in The wolf is their playlist, there is no bad song in The wolf. You know that moment you watch a drama and the opening song is so good you end up downloading the whole playlist? Secondly, I love the storyline of the drama, the whole story of Lord Bo being raised by wolves is quite impressive. The wolf gives out lots of suspense and each episode ends with a cliffhanger making you anxious.

Let’s talk about the action in the drama. I loved the way they developed Wolfie’s soft character into a badass character like Lord Bo. The entrance of Wolfie as Lord Bo was breath taking and the whole scene was worth repeating. Of course we would review The Wolf without mentioning Ji Chong and Ma Zhai Xhing. The Wolf is more interesting because it also has a love triangle plot and that is one of the reason why I love it, like who doesn’t love a little love triangle drama?

Xiao Zhang

Credit should be given where it is due and Xiao Zhang deserves all the credits for giving us the best version of Ji Chong. I actually like the way Ji Chong was protecting Ma Zhai Xing even though they didn’t know each other for a long time, such friends are rare.

The love between Lord Bo and Zhai Xing is also interesting especially when it goes on and off unexpectedly. The two always meet challenges that tries to separate them but they end up overcoming them in the end. It is also funny how the two can be enemies while understanding each other’s thoughts well.

One thing that I hate about the drama is that evil emperor Chu Kui who treats people like chess pawns while he is hiding in the palace, he even sacrificed his son! I can totally recommend The Wolf to everyone who didn’t watch it yet.
