Synopsis.
A story that follows two married couples – Shen Mingbao and her husband Yang Zheng who are both busy growing their careers and her friend Xiao Xue whose views clash with her much-younger husband.
After meeting IT professional Yang Zheng at the right age, Shen Mingbao quickly gets married. However, the newly weds barely have time for each other due to their busy schedules and only see each other about twice a week. Shen Mingbao’s childhood friend Xiao Xue is a baifumei which is a Chinese term for fair-skinned, rich and beautiful. She suddenly gets hitched to Chen Tong, an actor who is eight years her junior. In order to let her husband have a career, Xiao Xue acquires a company without realizing that it’s the place where Shen Mingbao works. To make up for the loss of customers, Shen Mingbao has to work double time which leads to a miscarriage. After learning about what happened, Yang Zheng turns in Shen Mingbao’s resignation on her behalf which causes conflicts between husband and wife.
Xue Kexin and Chen Tong’s differences lead to their divorce. Shen Mingbao becomes pregnant again at a time when Yang Zheng suffers a setback in his career. It leaves Shen Mingbao no choice but to work even harder than before. Xue Kexin’s best friend Zhang Songwen returns to China to start a business. She asks Yang Zheng to write code for her and they eventually become business partners. Zhang Songwen’s arrival brings about an unprecedented criss to Shen Mingbao’s marriage. While one couple tries to work things out, another contemplates divorce.
