Dragon Walk Synopsis
The protagonist Wu You is a young and sunny fashion designer who studies in the UK with dreams. He got into trouble because of his graduation work, and at the suggestion of his teacher, he embarked on a journey back to China to find inspiration.
After returning to his hometown of Changzhou, in order to find inspiration, he visited the dragon culture exhibition of Changzhou Museum and accidentally awakened the “First Dragon in Jiangnan” jade ornament with dragon head pattern unearthed about 5,500 years ago, and transformed into the “Dragon Girl” Yan Ling (Duan Xingyu). Since then, his fate has been closely linked to the search for “dragon spirit fragments”, starting a journey full of fantasy, laughter and tears.
In order to help Yan Ling recover her five senses and gather the scattered “dragon spirit”, Wu You and Yan Ling traveled to the “Dragon City” Changzhou to explore the cultural roots. From Maoshan Forest, Jiaoxi Ancient Town, Ming City Wall, to Oriental Salt Lake City, Flower Valley Romance, Yangtze River National Cultural Park, and Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal, each scene presents Changzhou’s unique natural and cultural landscape.
The two experienced intangible cultural heritage skills such as bamboo carving, random needle embroidery, Changzhou winemaking, and Menghe Medical School, and felt the intangible cultural heritage inheritors’ adherence to and inheritance of traditional culture.
In this process, the “dragon spirit” slowly gathered, Yan Ling’s five senses were restored one by one, and Wu You gradually found his own creative inspiration. The two worked hand in hand all the way, from the initial stumbling to the later understanding and cherishing, and their feelings gradually warmed up.
