The Legend Of Heroes Review: Dropped

The Legend Of Heroes Review: Dropped
Our Score

I dropped this drama after watching 9 episodes. I have 3 problems with this drama.

1. The story is going nowhere, I can’t really see the direction of the story. What’s the end goal of the story? Why should I keep watching? I fail to find answers for these questions. Like a story should give you something to hold on to until the last episode. Sometimes I watch a drama because I watch to see character B getting his revenge of character a. But on this one… I’m totally lost. The story is also dragging and some dialogues are weak and they’re just a repetition. I just don’t get it, I tried watching but I can’t concentrate when the story is weak. The way the storyline was boring, it reminded me of a drama called Remember Me.

2. The martial art choreography is meh. Maybe it’s because I watched this drama hoping to see something as great as Side Story Of Fox. I found every fight scene boring. It was as if I’m watching a martial art film in the 50s and 60s. They moved too slow and the camera angle was sometimes off. Some fight scenes looked like they were dancing instead of fighting. Then one person would throw a punch and they would say, ‘great skills, you’re too dangerous ‘. Like are you kidding me! How am I supposed to believe that? I mean, I know it’s fake but it has to be believable. This has to be one of the dramas with the worst martial choreography for 2024.

3. Color grading was too much. In this drama they used different color gradings to differentiate the location. I’m totally behind the idea but too much of good stuff can be bad stuff. From the first minute of the first episode, I was against the amount of grading they used. It was too much I couldn’t see the characters clearly. It was as if I’m watching this drama on a broken screen. My eyes got sore from watching the dessert scenes and it’s the reason why I dropped the drama for a while and watched Dashing Youth. I didn’t like the color grading.

I can’t say much about the drama because I dropped it before episode 10. I couldn’t keep watching something that doesn’t have any direction. It’s not about the actors, it’s about the storyline and the editing. I heard this was adapted from another project, nowadays these kind of projects are nothing but disappointment. Again, it’s just my own view not everyone’s view.
