Last time I saw Joseph Zeng in action was in 2017’s drama ‘Fighter of the Destiny’ alongside Lu Han. As for Liang Jie, I’m very familiar with her because of The Eternal Love franchise. Today’s review is about a 2021 Chinese Drama ‘Time Flies and You are here’ starring Joseph Zeng and Liang Jie.
First impressions.
Since this section is based only on the first episode, I’ll just be brief about it and we can then move to the next section. I wasn’t highly impressed with… I’m just kidding! First episode was great, the pacing was awesome and I liked the way the two main leads came into contact with frequent unexpected meet ups and a little bit of misunderstanding between them. Liang Jie is well known for her slogan ‘You Jerk’ and she actually used that in the drama😂😂😂I can’t say a lot on the first episode because they didn’t reveal all the cards yet.
Overall.
This girl is a village girl who just arrived in one of the most prestigious towns/city. It’s obvious that she will experience some bullying since people in the city usually think that they’re better than those from rural areas. She encounters the prince (adopted) on few occasions and their encounter always led to fights, it even lead to their “forced marriage”. Xiao Man is now the prince’s concubine and still gets a hard time but ends up falling in love with the prince, which starts to wake troubles up for them.
The Good.
Couples Chemistry.
Well, the chemistry between the male and female lead was good and those misunderstandings sparked the whole love story. For the second couple, I found them more entertaining than the main leads because they were totally different people in terms of personalities unlike the main leads who are both stubborn.
Storyline.
The storyline was good but I felt like the “Capital” plot wasn’t necessary and the drama would still be great. I’m saying this because the writers managed to reach episode 28 without even paying much attention to the Capital city.
Cast.
The cast was amazing, I happen to notice that the emperor is the same emperor from jun jiu ling which I’m about to finish. Mingu and Boyang left a good impression on me and I would definitely love to see them in a new drama.
The Bad.
Never ending Misunderstandings.
It’s reasonable for people with totally different personalities to have misunderstandings some times, but they shouldn’t overdo it. Each and every time you think ‘ finally, they’ve made peace”, something else shows up and Boom!!! our main leads are fighting again for the 100th time!!!
Conclusion.
The ending of the drama was good and joyous but why do they always kill one important character during the last moment, they always do that on almost every costume drama and it’s sometimes irritating. I definitely recommend you to watch this drama, it has friendship, hate to love, romance, war
